CANCER SURGERY PROCEDURE

Preoperative Assessment
Medical history, imaging, blood tests, and possibly a biopsy.
Consultation with a multidisciplinary team. -
Anesthesia
General or local anesthesia is administered depending on the procedure. -
Surgical Procedure
The surgeon makes an incision and removes the tumor along with some surrounding healthy tissue (called a "margin") to ensure all cancer is removed. -
Postoperative Care
Includes monitoring, pain management, wound care, and physical recovery. May involve follow-up treatments (e.g., chemotherapy or radiation).
